Bicycle Maintenance Station at Lake Hollingsworth 

At Lake Hollingsworth,  a bicycle maintenance station was installed recently. There is an air pump and some repair tools. 

The station can be found just off the trail, east of the parking lot. Very handy!

“City crews will begin construction on a Multi-use trail on New Jersey Road between Edgewood Drive and Crystal Lake Drive on January 5th. Periodic lane closures with flaggers may create temporary delays.

Beginning January 12th New Jersey Road/ Sylvester Road intersection will be closed to thru traffic for approximately two weeks.

Detours will be clearly marked.”

Educational Signs at Lake Somerset Park

Two new educational signs have been placed in Lake Somerset Park boat ramp parking area. They can be accessed off Glendale Road.

Hurricane Season 2014

Hurricane season in the Atlantic begins June 1st and ends November 30th.

Crosswalks Repainted

The crosswalks on New Jersey Road at Woodlake Park and also by Lake Somerset Park have been restored by repainting the pavement markings.

Rookery News Update

According to the City of Lakeland twitter account:

Bicycle Friendly Community Video

Lakeland, Florida has been awarded a Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Community by The League of American Bicyclists (LAB). This video demonstrates some of the improvements for bicyclists by the City of Lakeland, such as the Bright Green Bike Boxes at Lake Hollingsworth
